We know many of you love creating custom playlists in Marimic using Spotify. Some of our most popular features rely on Spotify’s platform.
Unfortunately,
on February 6th 2026, Spotify has decided to deprecate (i.e. phase-out) certain functionalities that we rely on to provide our innovative custom playlist creator.
We want to be transparent: this means that we have to push some changes over a short timespan.
- In the near future, we will add support for Apple Music and YouTube Music to create your own custom playlists.
- We have changed the way you add Spotify songs to our custom playlist creator. Only a list of Spotify songs can be added, instead of a link to a Spotify playlist.
- Over time, we will remove support for Spotify to create custom playlists. These changes are not our choice, but a result of Spotify’s new restrictions.
- Our library of +4000 curated songs remains available to use with Spotify. We will remain committed to expand those over time as we did during last year.
What does this mean for you?
You can still play with our library of +4000 songs with over 14 categories, using either Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music.
Support for Spotify in the custom playlist creator will be removed over time, but your existing custom playlists keep working. We’re working to make the transition as smooth as possible and will keep you updated.
