Marimic - EARLIER OR LATER? rules

The musical time machine that tests your knowledge of tunes and their origins! Gather your friends and form your teams.

What you'll need:

- 82 Year Cards: Each card contains the release year of a famous song on one side and a QR code on the other. Starting at 1957 all the way to 2024.

- 'Scan to Play' Card: This card lets you select the category you want to play with.

Forming Your Bands (Teams):

Up to 4 players can join, divided into 2 teams. A team can be a solo act or a group.

Setting the Stage (Preparations):

1. Spotify or YouTube Music Ready: At least one player of both teams have Spotify or YouTube Music installed on their smartphone. Subscriptions of these services are helpful to avoid ads.

2. Pick Your Category: Only one player (the host) scans the 'Choose Category' card. Follow the instructions on the screen.

3. Shuffle and Stack: Shuffle the Year cards. Place the cards in the center of the table with QR codes facing up.

Perform! (The Game):

4. Cue The Music: Team A starts by scanning the QR code of the top Year Card. Quickly place the phone face down; the song will start playing after a 3-second delay.

5. Guess the Year: Both teams listen to the song. Team B guesses the year the song was originally released.

6. Later or Earlier?: Team A now decides if the actual release year is later or earlier than Team B's guess.

7. Keep or Lose: Flip the card to reveal the year. If Team A's guess (later or earlier) is correct, they win the card. If Team A's guess is incorrect, then Team B wins the card.

8. Next Tune, Please: The team that wins the card starts the next round by making the initial guess. Repeat steps 4 to 8.

Winning the Encore (Victory):

The first team to collect 10 Year cards wins the game and is crowned the supreme music guru!

Notes

* When we are asking for the release year of the song, we are looking for the year it was first released in any country, whether on an album or as a single.
